At Encore Cases, we can make and create anything our customers’ hearts desire. We can figure out sizing, design, layout, even colors. We have created standard black cases, as well as ventured into more colorful areas – blues, whites, grays, reds… and for the American punk rock band Green Day, Encore Cases made them all custom green cases for their instruments and band gear.
This well-known band made up of singer Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool, was originally formed in 1986. They began their journey with an independent label named Lookout! Records. However, their popularity began with album Dookie, released in 1994 with Reprise Records. 10 million copies of that album were sold!
American Idiot, Their Saving Grace
Green Day had trouble following that success, however. Their albums Insomniac (1995) and Nimrod (1997) made it to double platinum status, and Warning (2000) made it to gold status. And then the band released its famous seventh album American Idiot in 2004, which caught on with the younger generation. The rock opera album sold 6 million copies in the U.S.
From there, the band worked on several small projects, but it was their release of 21st Century Breakdown in 2009 that brought their name back out on the charts. That album was their best chart performance to date. That success was followed by a trilogy album release in September, November and December of 2012 – albums ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!.
When the band came to Encore to pick up their new cases, one of the band members fell in love with the color. He enjoyed it so much that he requested that Encore construct him an entire bedroom furniture set made of the same green case material! And so, Encore got to work. We made a headboard, a dresser, a nightstand – the whole shebang – all made with the unmistakable quality and style of Encore.
